The Mother Matilda Beasley Park is located on East Broad Street in downtown Savannah. The dog park was created in Spring 2008 and is maintained by the Chatham County Commissioners.

This site is very unofficial and is for the benefit of dogs and dog owners who frequent the park or those that are interested in visiting. We have no authority over the park except for our mutual interest in keeping it a vital community space.

sweet boxer needs a home - asap...

today we found a stray wandering around henry st. and waters ave. with a little coaxing and some hot dogs, we managed to catch the dog and put her on a leash. at first, she was very scared of us, but hot dogs can do wonders for new relationships. she is a very cute older boxer mix who has had a litter(s) of puppies at some point. she is actually really sweet and wants to stay with us, unfortunately we have 3 dogs and the economy has not been nice to us. we tried to call the humane society & animal control but apparently they don't work on sundays. we can't bring her into our house and have nowhere else to put her. as of now, she is laying on our front porch with a blanket and some food & water. she's in pretty good shape, a little starved and has some kind of skin rash on her tail, but nothing serious. she is really a sweet girl and we want her to find a good home. if you have any advice or are interested in adopting her, please comment on this post or email me at heatherom@msn.com. thanks!
